Ning Kouakou (3rd, 7th), Jangbi Park (5th), Choi Daehyeon (6th), Lee Daehoon (2nd) and Jeong Yeon Jin (4th).

“We will not rest until one contestant is eliminated,” MBC analyst Song Hyeong-joon said after the preliminary round. “We will put all efforts toward the elimination.”

Lee Chan-hyeon (3rd, 20th) and Kim Heung-gwan (3rd), of a recently eliminated contestants, walked out on stage together. Lee Chan-hyeon said she would miss her “best friend,” and Kim Heung-gwan said his team didn’t want to bring him to a show when he didn’t have a chance to perform on the stage.

Kim Hyun-suk, who lost in the first round, said he was worried that he wasn’t even considered, and the cast discussed whether he, too, should have gone through.

But in the end, Lee Chaechul and Lee Byung-sun walked out first, as the former brought out his new guitar, a gift from his parents, while the latter said he would stay on until the end (in the meantime, he posted photos of his guitar playing on Instagram.)

The semifinals begin at 8 p.m. KST on KBS.
